Student AI for K–12 schools
HeyOtto gives students an AI assistant for building, creating, and learning — while advisors keep visibility, tool controls, and Real-Time Alerts. Classroom use is supported when a teacher wants it. Enrichment — clubs, STEM electives, after-school, and camps — is a strength.
HeyOtto is an AI platform for kids and teens. Otto is the assistant inside it. On the schools side, the same platform is scoped for school-managed use: adult review and tool allowlists that match how you run the room.

Advisor
I don’t need another lesson-plan suite. I need kids to build in club without disappearing into ChatGPT.
Otto
I’m the assistant in the session. You set the tools and you can see the thread.

What is HeyOtto for schools?

The gap
Students already have AI. Programs don’t have a place for it.
Consumer ChatGPT shows up in robotics, after-school, and AI literacy clubs whether you planned for it or not. Teacher-planning tools help adults prep class. What’s missing is student AI built for program time — with adults still able to see the work and set the bounds.
Advisor
Our STEM kids paste errors into ChatGPT on their phones. We never see the thread.
Otto
Keep the assistant in a program-scoped place you can review. I help with the build; you set the tools.
Advisor
MagicSchool is great for teachers. That’s not what our AI club needs.
Otto
Right split. They help teachers plan. HeyOtto is what students open in club — with you in the loop.
Advisor
Can we allow code and search but turn images off?
Otto
Yes. Tool allowlists are per program profile.
HeyOtto is that layer: student assistant + program oversight.
Classroom use is fine when a school wants it. The lead story is still clubs and enrichment.
What you get
Oversight and tools in one platform
Four pieces every club or enrichment lead needs — without turning the product into a district lesson-plan suite.
Assistant
Student AI that fits club timeBuild, create, prompt, explore — still an assistant.Otto helps with debugging, projects, writing, and research-shaped work when you allow those tools.
Visibility
Advisors can see the threadNo mystery side chats on personal accounts.Program-managed access so adults can review what happened in the session.
Alerts
Real-Time AlertsKnow when something needs a human.Same Real-Time Alerts product name as the family app — one safety pipeline to learn, not a second invent-your-own stack.
Controls
You choose the toolsCode, images, video, search — on or off.Match the program: robotics may want code + search; a younger enrichment block may keep the allowlist tighter.
Controls
Usage limits & quiet hoursCap messages or tokens, set quiet hours, and override per student — same controls for a class or one kid.Reset period, message limit, and token limit: leave empty for no cap, or set 0 to block. Quiet hours pause chat for students in a set window, and they follow the timezone. Custom limits and quiet hours per student when defaults aren’t enough.
Settings
Faith & values settingsConfigure faith, mission, and values rules so Otto stays inside what your school upholds.Hand sensitive questions to a teacher, parent, or chaplain when that’s the right call.
Inside the platform
What students can do (when you turn it on)
Feature depth lives on the main HeyOtto site. Here is the schools view of the toolkit — link out for the full parent/family pages.
Chat
Guided questions and project help that stays an assistant.
AI Tutor
Habits-not-dependency help for practice and stuck points.
Code
Games, scripts, and club builds.
Images & AI Video
Original characters and scenes; no face-upload story in public copy.
Books
Illustrated stories and creative writing.
Web Search
Otto searches and summarizes when enabled (parents/advisors see links in history on the family product; schools keep advisor visibility).
Marketplace
Make it. Share it. Other HeyOtto users can try it.
Teachers and students can build in HeyOtto — a game for club, a study guide, a document, a set of flashcards, a quiz, a timer — then share it with other HeyOtto users. The Marketplace is where those creations show up. Tasks is the other side: assign quizzes and homework as work to do — not a public share, and not a social feed.
Make
Build it in chat
Tell Otto what you want — a game, a document, flashcards, a study guide, a quiz, a learning tool. The assistant builds it next to the conversation so you can try it and refine it.
Tasks
Create quizzes, homework, and other assignments — assign to a class or one student.
Build quizzes, homework, and similar Tasks in minutes. Assign to the whole class or an individual student. Track what’s assigned without turning the product into a classroom OS.
Share
Share it with other users
When it's ready, publish it so other classrooms, clubs, and families on HeyOtto can open it — not just the group that made it.
Examples
Games, documents, flashcards, and more
Arcade games, study guides, documents, flashcards, quizzes, timers, and other learning tools. Whatever the room needed, someone else can reuse.
Review
Reviewed before it goes live
Marketplace listings are human-reviewed for safety and quality before they are discoverable. Program adults stay in the loop on what students share.

Passport
One identity. Every tool it touches.
HeyOtto Passport gives schools and developers a single way to connect AI-powered tools to HeyOtto. Children use one identity across every app, with one record and one place for safety oversight.
Identity
One student identityA connected tool sees the student by name. Access is turned on once, for that student, by an administrator. That replaces a guest session or a single login shared by the whole class.
Record
One recordActivity from a connected tool shows up in that student’s HeyOtto history, beside the work they already did in HeyOtto.Review stays on the student. The other app doesn’t keep a separate transcript.
Safety & alerts
One safety pipelineAlerts from connected tools use the same Real-Time Alerts feed as the HeyOtto app.Staff watch one stream. A new tool does not get its own monitoring setup.
Admin
One place for administratorsA student joining or leaving is handled once. The roster doesn’t get rebuilt for each experience.Bringing on another tool keeps the same oversight. It doesn’t start a second safety workflow.
