Can students use AI to learn to code?
Yes. AI can explain errors, suggest a next step, and help students read code — if they still write, run, and understand what they submit. Unrestricted “write the whole program” use teaches less.
Coding assistance is a strong student use when the teacher can see the thread and the student can explain the program. Turn code tools on for the classes that need them. Clubs and STEM sessions are a natural fit. See STEM.
