AI Literacy
Why do students need AI literacy?
Students already meet AI in search, homework help, creative tools, and recommendation feeds. Literacy helps them question outputs, protect their information, and use AI to learn instead of treating every answer as fact.
Avoiding AI will not keep students from it. Literacy is how they recognize when a system is generating, why it can be wrong, and when human judgment still has to decide.
That is a civic and academic skill, not only a career skill. It belongs next to reading sources and citing work — and it is practiced faster in projects and AI clubs than in a one-week slide deck.
