Does AI collect student conversations?
Many AI tools store prompts and responses so the product can function, show history, or be reviewed. Whether that happens — and who can see it — depends on the vendor and the school configuration. Ask before you approve the tool.
Conversation collection is common. A chat product often needs history to continue a thread. School products may also keep archives so a teacher can review use. Consumer products may keep data for training or ads — or say they do not. You cannot assume.
For school use, collection that a teacher can see is often a feature. Collection that only the vendor can use is a different question. Get both answers in writing.
