Why should schools use AI?
Schools should consider AI when it helps students get unstuck, practice, create, or learn how the tools they already meet actually work — and when adults can still see and set the bounds. It is not a reason to automate thinking or replace teaching.
AI can give students more chances to ask questions, get a hint, try a draft, or explore a project than one teacher can offer every period. It can also help teachers plan, differentiate, and build materials — if they still review what students will see.
Those are potential uses, not guarantees. Poorly implemented AI becomes an answer machine, a privacy risk, or a different unofficial rule in every classroom. Implementation is the difference between a learning tool and a shortcut.
A school should use AI when it has a reason (literacy, support, clubs, safer student access), a policy, and a way for adults to stay in the loop. Start with AI Readiness if you are still deciding why.
